ABSTRACT Patient Comfort Shortness of Breath That Gets Semi Fowler Position in Hospital "Kanjuruhan" Kepanjen Malang. Khoirul Haris (2013). Keywords: Semi fowler position, leisure, shortness of breath/asphyxia Semi-Fowler position is a position where the patient resting in bed with head higher at 45 degree till 60 degree which is bed can set the height of the head or with the help of wedge back rest and cushion to the back and head so that patients who experience shortness of breath can feel more comfortable with the position given so that the patient experienced shortness of breath can be reduced. This study aims to determine the comfort of the patient's shortness of breath that gets Semi-Fowler position. The research design which is used descriptive observational method, implemented in the Imam Bonjol and Airlangga Care Room of “Kanjuruhan” Hospital. The results showed that the given of semi-Fowler's position with a certain variation of the comfort of the patient short of breath on interviews and observations showed good results. In the semi-Fowler position 45 degree who said comfortable were 6 respondents. In the semi-Fowler position 60 degree who said comfortable was 1 respondent. And the semi-Fowler position 90 degree who said comfortable were 2 respondents. The result of this research is recommended for further research in which the further researcher from knowing that the semi-Fowler position in patients with shortness of breath is needed to be able to reduce shortness of breath, for it is necessary to find the factors that affect the fulfillment of comfort to shortness of breath patients, except semi-Fowler position in other to reduce tightness optimally.
